Nicola da Schio (VUB – Cosmopolis)

Nicola da Schio is PhD researcher in urban ecology at the Cosmopolis Centre for Urban research (Vrije Universiteit Brussel). His research focuses on how pollution is distributed, how it is governed, and how it is known, framed and understood. He is also the Brussels focal person for the SmarterLabs-AirCasting Brussels project, which aims to test participatory approaches to measure air quality and to identify sustainable solutions at the neighbourhood and city scale. Before joining Cosmopolis, Nicola worked with the United Nations Environment Programme on issues related to the urban environment and sustainable development. In the past, he had worked with different international institutions and NGOs in Western Europe, Latin America and Sub-Saharan Africa.
